City Market
One of the greatest things about living in Kansas City's RiverMarket area is the city market. Every Saturday and Sunday, people from all over the city flock to this delightful square to search for their pick of organic treasures, whether it be fruits and veggies, fresh flowers, breads, honey, salsa...the list goes on, my lovelies. Fiance and I love to go over completely undone (i.e. unshowered and unshaven -- I know, ewwww) and get a cup of java and our weekly beans at the coffee shop on the corner. Whole beans now, courtesy of Dad, who recently gifted us a grinder and the joy of fresh-ground beans. Then we take our prized Baggu bags and buy as many groceries for the week as those babies can hold! My favorites are the plump, juicy home-grown tomatoes. My mouth is watering, just thinking about them! This week, Fiance and Little G went over on Sunday while I made breakfast muffins and brewed up the last of the week's coffee. They took the camera along for fun....

{ Little G is going to be a photographer for sure! Such a great eye! }

It's My Dream, Too!
I think Taylor Swift and I could be BFFs! Except I want to do it with Tupac. Dreams come true, right?

Bungalow 24

Bungalow, a captivating and eclectic 24 room hotel with a healthy mix of vintage and modern was done by the oh-so-talented Sixx Design (Robert and Cortney Novogratz). I mean, just ridiculous. This place even gives Ace Hotel a run for its money (and that's saying a lot)! Located on the New Jersey Shore....So, I'm thinking that maybe it's time for a little getaway?

Jaime Hayon
Okay, this is going to blow your mind. Have a seat.
La Terraza del Casino
The Restaurant La Terraza del Casino (Madrid, Spain) presents its spectacular new look. An interiors project by Jaime Hayon that explores the balance of an aesthetic link between past and future using his very personal style that connects harmoniously with the immaginative and innovative kitchen of the outstanding chef: Paco Roncero. The project presents new furniture elements created by Hayon in consonance with the restaurant's needs as well as different hand crafted details, always on the look for that special something that blends art and design.

Moms....Belated
One of my very favorite people in the whole wide world is my mom. She is brilliant, beautiful, hard-working and has the most incredible posture you've ever seen. Also the cleanest home, but we won't go there (can you say OCD?). We have always been very close, and it's been amazing to grow up with her influence, and her friendship.So last Sunday, Fiance and I hosted brunch to honor her for the many trying years that she has been dedicated to one of the most important jobs in the world. We also honored my sister-in-law, who is another incredible mommy, and who I thank daily (even though she doesn't know it) for doing such a wonderful job with my 3-year-old niece. I don't know how you do it, sista, but you do it well!
I was also surprised this year by a dear friend, who honored me with a Mother's Day card. It forced me to take a moment and realize that this is technically my last year not to be considered a mommy myself! Fiance comes with a bright, energetic, superstar of a daughter that has rocked my world in more ways than probably even I have realized. It's surreal to think about the responsibilities of parenting, and whether I am really ready for those (am I old enough to have a kid?!). But then when are we ever ready? I couldn't ask for a more perfect teacher, or for a more perfect blessing to break me in. Someday, Fiance and I will make some of our own. For now, I am very lucky to have the treasures that I do.
Here's to all the mommies today!

How do they do it?
I am so blessed to be able to say that I've always been artistic. My mom has proof of this hanging in her kitchen; a Tobe original circa 1987(ish). But I feel like I have always been a very literal artist. As in, I can draw what I see without a problem. And I can do the other stuff, but with a little more work. Maybe that's true for many artists? I don't know. For certain, I have always admired people like Grady McFerrin, who can interpret things -- and even dream them up -- in his own way. It's sort of beyond me. Perhaps I just haven't tried hard enough? Either way, you should definitely grab a napkin for the drool...

Sorry, dudes. I didn't even attempt to pare down the ones I liked.
p.s. Picked him up here. Thanks, M.Geezie!
